Located on the shores of Lake Erie in Bratenahl, Oh., the kitchen and secondary stairwell of this private residence was renovated by The Krueger Group.  Originally designed as a private residence at the turn of the century by Abram Garfield, the youngest son of President James A. Garfield, previous owners used the grounds and residence in capacities ranging from board room to entertainment space for international executives.

Through careful consideration in selecting high-end finishes and colors that complement the grandness of the residence, the renovated kitchen and auxiliary staircase were brought back to their original luster, highlights of the scope of work include:

  • Cork flooring was installed in the kitchen.
  • The stairs and banister were painstakingly restored by artisans to reveal 3" wide rift cut white oak and re-stained to match with the rest of the house.
  • Original cabinetry were re-finished.
  • A new island with soapstone counter top was custom built to look like it was part of the original kitchen.
