This 1933 Tudor-style home is rich in charming details and curb appeal. As typical of the era however, the house featured a tiny, inefficient kitchen in need of an update. Rather than work with the limited space, the homeowners elected to embark on a two-phase project turning the existing, cramped kitchen into a family study, and adding a large kitchen & mudroom addition. The Krueger Group was challenged with the task of creating this brand new space and tying it in with old, so that the two blend seamlessly. One key ingredient in that recipe was to wrap the new structure all in brick, creating the effect of it being part of the original house.

The new addition features the functionality and efficiency families require today, including a cozy eat-in area, an island with a raised bar top, and loads of cabinetry storage. In addition to an opening into the existing dining room, the new kitchen also features a walk-through mudroom area with built-in cabinetry for coats, shoes, and quick access to the new exterior door. The new Shaker-style cabinets feature frosted glass doors and a rich, chocolate stained finish. The solid surface counter top & matching back splash create the dramatic look of natural stone, but require little maintenance and care. Complimenting the modern cabinets is an island rich in texture with an architectural faced stone front and coffered-style ceiling detail.
